    I just had to repost this letter from the Telegraph

    Nashua Telegraph, NH, USA
    Letters
    Published: Friday, May 30, 2008
    We are surrounded by horrible realities
    This is a letter regarding your series on transgendered individuals.
    Now one may assume I'm going to rant and rave about the series not
    being "newsworthy" or how I was "disturbed" about the contents on the
    articles which were printed on the front page of the paper, or how I
    am "offended" by reading personal information about someone's personal
    lifestyle. Well, I'm not.
    However, I just finished reading the front page of the Nashua & Region
    section of The Telegraph, and here's what I learned:
    • A 37-year-old woman has been found fit to stand trial, accused of
    having sex with a 15-year-old boy (the boy is a friend of her
    daughter's no less);
    • A self-proclaimed "heroin junkie" used a tire rasp to stab an
    acquaintance in an attempt to get money for a fix;
    • A 34-year-old Milford man is headed for trial for yet again for
    dealing crack cocaine after a months-long undercover operation;
    And it goes on – police arrested a local woman after she allegedly
    assaulted her husband during a domestic dispute; an 18-year-old Nashua
    boy was arrested for stabbing another male who was out walking with
    his girlfriend, upon his arrest they found marijuana and drug
    paraphernalia in his backpack.
    Newsworthy? Perhaps. I just find it peculiar that people get so worked
    up about something that is unfamiliar to them yet are so accustomed
    and desensitized to the horrible realities that are all around them as
    portrayed in the Nashua & Region section of The Telegraph.

    Thanks Cyndi, let's hope some folks recalibrate their perspectives.

    Always,

    What an Incredibly Powerful Mission Statement

    There are two simple values that lie at the core of the foundation’s work:

    1)  All lives—no matter where they are being lived—have equal value.

    2)  To whom much is given, much is expected.
